Troubleshoot

The extension always runs over SSL, as it is required for Tableau that the extensions use HTTPS. Although, you can still use your Tableau Server over regular HTTP, and with this scenario, there are certain conditions that can interfere with the normal use of Tableau and extensions. Bear in mind that his behavior is not expected, it's just a possibility that can happen in certain circumstances. So you should only follow this guide if you are facing one of the side effects:

  • You have Tableau Server without SSL

  • The extension is running as expected over SSL

  • Use Tableau Server normally but when the extension loads up a few things can happen:

    • Inability to log in on the extension

    • Inability to use Tableau Server without SSL after the extension loads up

    • Only possible to use Tableau Server again after cleaning the browser cache
