Troubleshoot SAML configuration with Salesforce embedded

Page is created because of the issues related to Third-party cookies being blocked on certain browsers when using embedded Salesforce

This guide provides instructions for adding security exceptions to some web browsers.

Adding Security Exceptions in Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and click on the three dots in the window's top right corner.

  2. Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.

  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Advanced”.

  4. Under “Privacy and security”, click on “Site settings”.

  5. Click on “Cookies and site data”.

  6. Click on “Sites that can always use cookies”.

  7. Add the Salesforce hostname, Tableau hostname, and Write-Back URL to the list of sites.

  8. Ensure that “Including third-party cookies on this site” is checked.

Adding Security Exceptions in Firefox

  1. Open Firefox and click on the three lines in the top right corner of the window.

  2. Select “Options” from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click on “Privacy & Security” in the left-hand menu.

  4. Scroll down to the “Cookies and Site Data” section.

  5. Click on “Manage Permissions”.

  6. Add Tableau hostname, Okta hostname, and Write-Back URL to the list of sites.

  7. Click “Save Changes”.
