Linux Installation - Write-Back Server

Summary

Write-Back installer is available at Resources of Write-Back ServerThe Linux package is distributed as a zip that contains 3 files.

  • The installation script (Write-Back-X.X.X-install-script.sh)
  • The java package (tableau-writeback-installer-X.X.X.jar)
  • Helper file for the installer

Step 1: Start the installation process

To start the installation, you must run the following command as sudo:

Make sure you are currently in the same directory where the 3 files are

The X.X.XmX.X represents the version that you have downloaded.

Install Write-Back
sudo ./Write-Back-X.X.X-install-script.sh

#For version 3.0.0:

sudo ./Write-Back-3.0.0-install-script.sh

Step 2: Agree with terms, choose the installation path, installation type and samples

After starting the script, you will be prompted to accept the license terms after a number of checks is performed. Read and accept the EULA and Privacy Policy.

Then, you will be prompted for the path:

Then, type "i" to install and press enter.

And finally, whether you want to install samples or not.

Step 3: Finishing up

After completing all the prompts, the installation will start and the terminal will output the progress. Once it reaches the end it will also let you know about the URL where you can access the Write-Back Manager and start configuring.

Step 4: Use Write-Back Manager to finish Setup

To finish the process you now have to setup Write-Back using Write-Back manager. Go to Setup & Manage with Write-Back Manager
