Troubleshoot Obtaining the Log Files

Applies to Write-Back Server

Troubleshoot

This article explains how to obtain the log files from your environment so you can check for specific errors on the server side, or when asked by a member of the Support team.

Log files are organised in a couple of different folders:

  • one for Write-Back Manager where you get information about setup

  • another for Write-Back itself where you will have access to information about the actual execution of Write-Back.

It is important to note that the log files that are specific for the application are complemented by log files generated by the application server and these can also be useful to analyse particular issues. Besides that, log files can be rolled over time where new files are generated instead of appending to the same file so you typically want to look at the latest version, the best way to do it is by sorting the files by last update date. Since there is a diversity of log files it is important to capture them all if requested by the support team.
